Drivers Wish translates pedal position into torque request and forms the entry point of the torque chain. If it is changed without consistent logic, the vehicle may feel strange even when power was requested.
Basics
Drivers Wish describes the path from accelerator pedal position to desired torque. The ECU does not simply follow pedal percentage; it converts the request into load or torque logic.
Generic increases can be technically risky. If Drivers Wish is raised heavily while torque model, limiters and injection logic do not match, throttle response may become delayed, transitions may feel uneven and power delivery may not match pedal input.
The vehicle does not react cleanly to pedal input.
Pedal position, torque request and real output do not feel harmonious.
