P00AF is generally defined as turbocharger or supercharger boost control A module performance. On many turbo engines this points to actuator behavior, boost control electronics, VGT/VNT vane movement or a mismatch between commanded and actual boost control response.
The code is broad. It means the ECU sees abnormal behavior in the boost control system, not that one specific part has already been proven defective.
A strong calibration does not raise boost targets in isolation. It keeps driver wish, torque model, smoke limiters, air mass, protection functions and turbo response in balance.
A fault code after a file change does not automatically prove a software fault. The important question is whether measured values, hardware state and calibration match in the affected load area.
