P0087 means fuel rail or system pressure too low. On modern common-rail diesel systems this can cause power loss, misfire-like behavior, limp mode or an aborted injection strategy under load.
The fault indicates that measured fuel pressure is below the expected value. Causes can include filter restriction, weak low-pressure supply, high-pressure pump limits, pressure sensor issues, injectors, leaks or wiring problems.
A good file treats fuel quantity, rail pressure target, pump capacity, injector reserve and torque model as one system. It does not demand more fuel than the vehicle can deliver reliably.
A fault code after a file change does not automatically prove a software fault. The important question is whether measured values, hardware state and calibration match in the affected load area.
